In the rolling hills beyond Hurstbridge, with spectacular views to the Kinglake ranges, Smiths Gully is a serene part of Victoria. Our clients wanted to build their family home away from the hustle and bustle of suburban life, with a strong focus on a creating a highly sustainable home, whilst enjoying the beauty of the area. The house was located on the site to take full advantage of the north facing aspect towards the Kinglake ranges, not only for its lovely views, but also to capture plenty of natural light.
Constructed on a concrete slab for thermal mass the panel package used 165mm SIPs external walls and 210mm roof panels. This highly insulated airtight package was complimented with our imported German double glazed UPVC window (U-Value of 1.0), which meant it was able to reach an energy rating of 9.4 stars.

Our clients enjoy the benefits of minimal living costs, whilst enjoying a home with a consistent temperature year round, and no unwanted intrusions by the wildlife!
