This one bedroom, naturally aspirate cottage has had a deep energy facelift. Given the size of the site and its constraints, going from a score of 0.0 energy efficiency to 6.5 stars, was a great outcome for our clients who needed more house and a more sustainable home.
SIPs were used to create the walls and roofs to the ground floor and second storey addition. With the use of SIPs and double glazed windows, what was once an energy drain, is now an energy efficient home.
This cottage is now a two bedroom home with multiple living zones. Plenty of natural light, newly harnessed temperature control and a covered outdoor entertaining area created by the cantilevered bedroom above, this home is now be enjoyed by its growing family.
