The original 1880’s home has undergone several adjustments and additions over time, but none as conclusive as the current revamp. The new owners required more space for their family and wanted to create a modern addition, that was still sympathetic to the original home. With a focus on internal air quality and a bespoke design that was angular in almost every direction, SIPs were the natural choice to construct this project.
Choosing SIPs as a replacement for traditional building materials creates livability. Reduced heating and cooling requirements, greater control of air quality and humidity management, combine to create a healthier air environment.
With a fully prefabricated panel package the raked, angular walls were installed in 3 days and the roof in 2 days. Less steel, reduced site waste and the ability to shield the house extension from the full West sun have helped to create a truly modern and functional home.
